Signing Day

As the seniors enjoy their last year attending Massapequa High school, they must think about the future that lies ahead. Many seniors have started the application process for college, while others have already committed. Others must make the decision that benefits both their education and sports. Recently Massapequa held a signing day for sports players ready to take their first steps into college life. Two seniors, Anthony Mollica and Olivia Marlow, both signed to college for their love of lacrosse.

Anthony Mollica, recently committed to Hofstra University, but not only for his love of lacrosse. Mollica stated “I chose Hofstra University because of their business program, internship program in New York City..” Hofstra University’s lacrosse is division 1 and according to Mollica “The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).”

Another senior, Olivia Marlow, recently committed to University of Connecticut. Marlow says, “What made me pick this specific college was the positive atmosphere I felt on the campus and the family energy that the coaches and athletes on the team showed me.” Marlow loved how welcoming both the team and coaches were to her when visiting the campus, and how interested the coaches found her. Marlow claimed “would make me feel wanted when getting recruited”. Not only was signing day an exciting experience for her but her friends as well. Marlow was able to sign with most of her lifelong friends, which made the day even more fun and exciting. Marlow stated “what made it better was that I got to sign with most of my best friends that I grew up with who are also playing collegiate level sports”

Congratulations to all the athletes that signed with a college this year and a special congratulations to Olivia and Anthony!
