Jillian Hand has been a member of The Chief since her sophomore year, starting off as a journalism student and later becoming a staff writer. Now a senior at MHS, Jillian is copy editor for The Chief, and thoroughly enjoys writing articles about problems which she believes should be addressed by society.
In 2014, she received first place for her environmental article “Is Massapequa Water Contaminated?” at the Long Island Journalism Awards at Hofstra University. She looks forward to continuing her journalism career in college, and is eager to finish senior year as a member of The Chief.
