12/18/18: Gibbons and Liardi take home the silver for Massapequa

As of December 8 and 9, Massapequa holds the second highest ranking in New York State after leaving the Colonie Dual Meet Tournament with eight wins. Tenth grader Chase Liardi has been the one to watch ever since he stepped on the mat, and at this tournament he earned seven wins and was awarded the Most Outstanding Wrestler. The team proved their rank as number two when eight other wrestlers went home winning all of their matches. University of Maryland commit, Garrett Gibbons, had a rocky start when he lost his first two matches. However, he became victorious when he finished the tournament with four consecutive wins. The team’s winning streak is projected to rise when they verse Monsignor Farrell on Wednesday, December 19 at 6 p.m.
