Massapequa High School Hosts Cabaret Night
January 6, 2014
Get ready for one unforgettable night! On January 24, MHS vocal students will perform their favorite Broadway tunes for the highly anticipated Cabaret Night. The event was not held last year due to a fundraiser for the music department’s trip to Disney World, Massapequa’s Got Talent.
“[I’m] happy [Cabaret Night] is back,” A Capella Chorus teacher Mrs. Nichole Greene said. “It’s a great opportunity to see what other kids in the school are doing.”
Students are excited to perform in this show especially because of its emphasis on Broadway and musical theater pieces. “I’m so excited that I get to sing one of my favorite Broadway songs,” senior Nicole Bilello said. “I have the chance to showcase my voice in a different type of talent show.” With songs ranging from Les Miserables to Wicked, it’s definitely going to be a night to remember.
This event is the perfect opportunity for one to see how much talent Massapequa has to offer. “It’s nice to see our own kids shine a little bit,” Mrs. Greene said.
Cabaret Night is sure to be a fun-filled event with plenty of talent and entertainment. Even if you’re not involved with the music department, Cabaret Night is a great opportunity to support your friends and enjoy an evening filled with wonderful music.
Tickets will only be sold at the door; there is no fixed price for entry, but there is an expected donation of three to seven dollars that will go towards scholarships for senior Tri-M members.
