Chief Day/Pep Rally; Spirit through the roof!

Friday (Chief Day): MHS became a sea of blue and gold on Friday in preparation for pep rally and Saturday’s homecoming game. Students wore their Chief best and some went a step further and used blue and gold face paint and wore sweatpants and high socks. Student athletes showed off their team spirit in their uniforms. In true Chief tradition, the WMHS Broadcasting Club played the iconic remix of “I’m Blue” by Eiffel 65 and added in “and gold” for a special twist on the song. Teachers even joined in on the day by wearing their own Chief apparel. During pep rally, the entire gym showed their support for MHS athletes and the homecoming court. The ASL students showed off their spirit and skills by signing the National Anthem. The Chiefettes put on an amazing performance, as did the Massapequa Cheerleaders and the band played covers of songs from Pixar favorites to get everyone hyped. Out of all the Spirit Week days, Chief Day has always been a favorite among students and teachers and never fails to get people active in fun school festivities.
