In the name of giving (and United Skates of America as well), the S.A.D.D Club is looking to defeat the cold with the warmth of their hearts.
To help the local skating company, the club is participating in their “Hat, Glove, and Scarf,” drive to collect warm clothes for the less fortunate. The club’s assistant advisor, Danielle Parlatore, is very happy about the event.
“This holiday season, we want to give back to United Skates of America. They helped us with Safe Halloween. They’re having a clothing drive for families in the community,” Parlatore said.
Now the one thing left to do is get MHS involved.
“We’re asking everyone in the school—teachers, staff, students, everyone – to bring in donations of hats, gloves and scarves so that we can help the community stay warm,” she said. “They can drop their donations off right here in the general office. We’re collecting up until December 21.”
The members of the SADD club are also very satisfied with the event’s goal and its organization as well.
“I really like the clothes drive idea because it’s something new, it’s something different we can do,” President Nicole Mosca said. “It gives kids an opportunity to receive stuff that they can’t normally. It’s a really good feeling that they get during the holidays.”
