The Chief

Jenna Fratello, Editor-in-Chief (2011-12)

Jenna Fratello, a Massapequa High School alum, was the Editor-in-Chief of The Chief for the 2011-12 school year. Her love for journalism began in the fourth grade, prompting her to write for her middle-school newspaper, The Berner Beacon. In her freshman year of high school, she was appointed as the first ever Editor-in-Chief of The Little Chief, Massapequa High School’s freshman newspaper.

Since joining The Chief, Jenna has been interning at ACJ Publications, where she writes and edits for three local newspapers, WCWP Radio Station, concentrating in the Music and News Departments, and Verizon FiOS, where she writes, edits, and shoots television news stories to air on FiOS1. Being a part of The Chief has been her best high-school experience, and Jenna planned to pursue Journalism in college, as well as the Fine Arts.

When she’s not busy editing in room 131, she enjoys being a part of Massapequa High School’s radio station WMHS, the National Honor Society, and the National Art Honor Society. Although she desperately tries to be productive 24/7, she finds that her best work is produced in the autumn. She takes her inspiration from Andy Warhol, Hermione Granger, classic Disney films, Boy Meets World, and her dog. She sometimes reads and draws things, and her favorite film is 500 Days of Summer.
