Congratulations to The Chief and 2010-11 Broadcast Journalism students on their recent journalism awards. On March 14, Adelphi University held its 2012 Press Day featuring the Quill Awards.
The Chief staff won Best Editorial for “The State of The School,” printed in the June 2011 issue and Editor-in-Chief Jenna Fratello won Best Feature Article for “10 years later: Massapequa remembers” printed in the September 2011 issue.
On Friday, March 23, LIU Post held their first annual Best of High School Journalism Awards. Chief Copy Editor Nick Barbieri won Best Internet News Story for “New York legalizes same sex marriage” published on
The Chief Online on September 7, 2011, and while Fratello and Managing Editor Tom Strong-Grinsell won Best Broadcast News Story for their collaborative news segment “MHS Around the World in 60 seconds: Japan Nuclear Disaster” which aired on the WMHS Morning Show in March 2011.
