Massapequa High School Fashion Marketing students, accompanied by Ms. Marianne Conte, had the honor of accepting a VIP invitation to attend GQ and Glamour magazine’s fashion event  on Friday, October 9 in the North Court of Simon Mall at Roosevelt Field. The Fashion Marketing students were gladly welcomed by Mrs. Nancy Gilbert, Marketing Director of Roosevelt Field and her assistant Ms. Jennifer Flood.

The event consisted of a reception to kick off the start of the event, followed by a runway fashion show. This spectacular fashion show featured the latest looks from Bloomingdale’s, Ted Baker- Bloomingdale’s, BaubleBar, BCBGMaxazria, Nordstrom, Robert Graham and Uniqlo. Also provided by the event were gift bags for all of the VIP attendees, containing a copy of GQ and Glamour magazine and a few other items. As was quite clear for the attendees, all of the designers went the extra mile to put together these pieces and looks;  all in all they put on an amazing show. From female models in dresses, tights and hats, to male models in suits, it was filled with variety.

The showcase was followed by another fun event on Saturday October 10th, which was open to the public and allowed them to get a little bit more of a hands-on approach to high fashion. The participants of this event had the opportunity to put together outfits using a variety of pieces that ranged from everyday chic to high fashion.

The students were honored to have taken advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and the first-hand fashion experience will doubtlessly prove to be invaluable both in Ms. Conte’s Fashion Marketing class and beyond.
