The cold months of Fall and Winter are officially here! This means lots of layering, bundling, and of course new and old trends that come around this time of year to give off that autumnal vibe.

Inspirations

I’ve noticed that this season’s style is inspired by many things including the 60’s,70’s, 90’s, boho, edgy, grunge, and even western.

Colors

The ‘‘it’’ colors of this season consist of a wide range of hues. From cool tones of elegant greens and greys to the warm tones of mustard yellow, rusts, and dusty pinks.

Fabrics

A big trend this year is velvet! Pants, tops, dresses and even jackets can be found in this revived material. Another material that has come to make quite a statement is silk. Silk slips is a trend from summer that still remains popular for Fall and Winter. However, this time it’s being layered under turtlenecks and long sleeves, along with a jacket or a cardigan. Tinsel is also a new fun trend that can be added as fun pop to shoes, sweaters and more! And you can’t forget about the fall staples of leather and suede that always come back to style this time of year. These fabrics are necessary for boots, jackets, skirts and more!

Tops

Of course sweaters are a trend for fall. Some popular variations include turtlenecks, oversized, and the classic cable knit.  Some other tops you might find in store include lace up, wrap style, deep  ‘’V’’s , bell sleeves, and off-the-shoulder, as well as flowy blouses with various prints and designs including lace and floral.

Bottoms

A classic pair of jeans is a wardrobe staple. Some current trends are vintage Levis, boyfriend/mom jeans and jeans having rips in the knees. Also pleather leggings and skirts are a current must have. Trousers with pin stripes, a solid color, or a fun print can be a fun way to add something special to an outfit as well.

Outerware

Faux fur coats and vests, leather jackets, coatigans, denim jackets, and oversized pea coats are current trends to layer with and keep you warm throughout these cold months.

Accessories

Hats– beanies, berets, lieutenant hats, baseball caps, wool hats

Jewelry– chokers/statement chokers

Shoes– ankle boots, loafers, a cute pair of sneakers, thigh high boots

Belts– statement, western style, double buckle
